Sue was born December 15, 1952 to her parents Harold and Bonnie Hagan in Vancouver, Washington. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1971 and went to Mt. Hood Community College majoring in Art. She lived in southeast Portland for most of her life.
She went on to work in manufacturing, most recently at Orchid Orthopedic Solutions where she enjoyed working with the wonderful people there. She could have retired in the last couple of years, but enjoyed working so much that she planned to work for a few more years.
Sue’s favorite hobby was reading. She had thousands of books and especially enjoyed mysteries like the Stephanie Plum and Longmire series, and authors like James Patterson, Faye Kellerman, Jonathan Kellerman and John Grisham. She enjoyed gardening – planting flowers and growing her own tomatoes, onions and corn. She learned to sew when she was very young and made a lot of her own clothes in high school. Later she loved sewing Christmas ornaments to give as gifts. She had a great sense of humor and friends said they enjoyed her laugh. Sue was very devoted to her dogs over the years and loved them very much – Cindy, Sam, Tanner and Charlie.
Sue is survived by her sister Cathy, brother-in-law Alan and niece JoJo, her brother Chris, sister-in-law Bobbie, and nephews Lee, Dustin and Mac, and her uncle Andy. We will all miss her very much.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial, 6705 SE 14th Ave, Portland, OR 97202.
In lieu of flowers memorial remembranbces for Sue may be sent to the Oregon Humane Society honoring her love of dogs.
