
Obituary of Dore' Ann Jaeger
Doré Ann (Altenhofen) Jaeger
April 2, 1963 – December 20, 2021
Doré Ann was born to Robert J. and Janice M. Altenhofen and was the third of their four children. She
attended St. Agatha Grade School, LaSalle High School (Class of ’81) and the University of Portland. She
taught for 25 years, especially enjoying her 5 years as a kindergarten teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows in
Portland.
Doré married in 1986 and treasured her three children: Margarete, John and Mark. Doré was ecstatic to
become a grandmother to Edie Mae in 2020.
Doré was an avid athlete and excelled in all sports. She was a two sport scholarship athlete at U of P.
She also spent hours in and on the water– fishing, swimming and water-skiing.
Doré was a prolific artist and creative writer. She was proficient in many art media – china painting,
watercolor, acrylics, pencil, charcoal, oils, iPad art, metal sculpture and more.
Doré carried many crosses during her lifetime – yet was courageous and resilient, facing challenges and
setbacks with grace and her deep-seated Catholic faith.
Doré is survived by her mother, Janice; her children Margarete (Meredith Lowe), John and Mark Jaeger;
her granddaughter, Edie; her siblings Sr. Adele Marie Altenhofen, Frank Altenhofen (Vickie) and
MaryAnn Stewart (Bryan); and numerous nieces and nephews.

10:30 am – Funeral
Reception in Parish Hall immediately following funeral
